The Anchor, Lydbrook, Gloucestershire, GL 17 9SB
The Anchor is located in Central Lydbrook on the B4234 road which runs between Coleford and Ross on Wye.
From Gloucester follow the signs to the Forest of Dean, then signs for Lydbrook. The Anchor is in the middle of the village on the right hand side as you head downhill from the Gloucester Road towards the River Wye. You will pass the Wye Fry and Central Lydbrook stores on your left and the Anchor is 400 yards further down on your right.
Approaching from the north through Ross on Wye, where the M50 ends, we are about six miles further on. Follow the signs for Walford (on the B4234), then keep on this road. You will see a very large white house on your left (River Wye Lodge) at a t junction signposted “Lydney”. Turn left and head into the village. The Anchor is approximately one mile uphill on your left hand side.
The market towns of Coleford and Cinderfold are both approximately six miles away.
Symonds Yat and Goodrich Castle are both a couple of miles away.
